Cabinetry: our approach

We specialise in bespoke cabinetry, made on site, to fit any space. Our alcove units, wardrobes, media units and shelving can be made in different styles; modern, contemporary, minimalist, Victorian, Edwardian, Regency or Georgian. They can be painted in any colour to fit your existing scheme.

The doors on modern and contemporary handmade cabinetry often come with a shadow gap and flush doors with concealed hinges to make clean straight lines. Concealed hinges can be calibrated to perfectly align doors, and we can incorporate a micro bevel around the edge of the door, which is a popular choice. Victorian and Georgian style units have panelled doors, usually using a profile molding, to match the existing style of the room.

Contemporary shelves are usually made without brackets; creating floating shelves with clean lines. For a more traditional approach, shelves can be made to sit directly on battens and the perimeter of the outer unit made with a matching molding to the cupboard. For adjustable shelving we can use book case strips. For wider spans of shelving, pine board is used to reduce the chances of bowing.

We can design and make any combination of cupboards and shelves to suit your own needs and provide your home with plenty of storage.

Our cabinetry is usually made with high grade moisture resistant MDF, and then painted by us or the client, but we can use any timber material or wood, including soft or hard wood, veneered or stained fibre board like Valchromat or veneered plywood, like birch faced ply.

Under-shelf, concealed and discreet lighting or power sockets can be incorporated where required.

We specialise in bespoke fitted wardrobes, made on site, to fit your room. The wardrobes can made to suit different styles; modern, contemporary, minimalist, Victorian, Edwardian, Regency or Georgian. The insides of our wardrobes have bespoke shelving and rails, and can include concealed plain chest of drawer units, all designed to suit your own needs.

Alcove units

Alcove units normally consist of a set of cupboards at the base, with shelving above, but we can design and make any combination of cupboards and shelves to provide bespoke storage for your living space.

Bespoke storage

Handmade storage units can fill any nook or cranny in your home. Attics, eaves, alcoves, under windows, hallways, utility rooms, office spaces; we can design and make any combination of cupboards and shelves.

ShelvING

Whether you need a small bookcase or wall-to-wall shelves, we can build durable shelving in your home to provide generous storage.

media units

We can create a bespoke unit to accommodate a TV and sound system, with the option to display on a shelf or conceal in a cabinet depending on your preferences; either way we can create ample storage to maximise your living space.

PLywood

Over the last couple of years, Plywood has become very popular and we have been asked by several architects and designers to build cabinets and kitchens from birch faced plywood.

Panelling

The panelling we make can be raised and fielded panelling, or tongue and grooved. Several projects we have undertaken in Georgian homes have required wood panelling. For painted panelling we have used a dense Medite MDF inlaid with pine beading. On other projects, where a timber finished is required, we have used a ply backing overlaid hard or soft wood.
